Scorching all around me
I can feel the heat
Radiating off the flames
Licking at the base of the tree
that I cling on to for my life
I feel my grip begin to loosen
My hands are turning numb
My blood turns to ice
as I begin to fall
Falling
Down

Down
Until I land amongst the flames
My arms turn to wings
My feathers are made from the embers
I spread them wide
Casting droplets of burning gold
into the air
I begin to rise
Higher
And Higher
And Higher
And Higher
Until I am scolding the clouds
Bringing with me a golden sunset
I settle on a white, feathery puffball
